Lloyds Bank Apologises After Customers See Others’ Transactions

by info@financialnewstoday.co.uk

Lloyds Banking Group said on Thursday it is investigating a technical glitch that allowed some customers to briefly view other users’ transactions online, marking the latest in a series of digital service issues affecting UK banks.

“We’re sorry that some customers experienced an issue viewing transactions in the app for a short time this morning,” a company spokesperson said after reports that users of the bank’s mobile app were able to see transactions belonging to other account holders.

Lloyds said the issue has now been resolved and that it is examining the root cause of the problem.

The incident highlights ongoing challenges faced by banks as they expand digital services. Last year, the UK’s cross-party Treasury Committee reported that nine of the country’s largest banks and building societies experienced at least 803 hours of unplanned technology and systems outages between January 2023 and February 2025, preventing millions of customers from accessing their money during that period.
